CLEAR is a Wakefield Que-based jazz-pop duo with a sound that lands somewhere between clever and heartfelt, polished and playfully rough-edged. We’re known for hook-driven melodies, sharp lyrics, and an energetic-but-intimate stage presence that pulls audiences in from the first note.

Fronted by Sue Johnson — vocals, harmonica, guitar, and percussion — and rounded out by songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Christian Patterson on vocals, guitar, and lap steel, CLEAR weaves folk, pop, and jazz into something warm, modern, and unmistakably ours. We’ve brought our chemistry to major festivals and standout venues across the National Capital Region and beyond, always aiming for performances that feel both elevated and human.
