Connected is the debut album from Irish producer 3rd Degree, released via my.co records. The project is led by Waterford native Jason Burns, a producer, vocalist, and guitarist with a strong background in live performance. The album blends live instruments with electronic production, sitting between alternative dance, indie, and rock. Drawing from years of playing in bands, Burns focuses on groove, feel, and songwriting, while using electronic tools to push the sound forward. The result is music that feels both organic and club-ready, designed to work as well on a dancefloor as it does in headphones. Connected features co-production and additional guitar work from Micko Roche, head of my.co records and an experienced Balearic producer. Together, Burns and Roche combine live musicianship with sampling, synths, and electronic beats to create a cohesive and energetic album. Early singles “Feel It Coming” and “Connected” reached number one on the Juno Download Indie/Alternative charts, helping build momentum ahead of the album’s release. Lyrically, the album touches on themes of modern life, relationships, and personal growth. Burns’ vocals are often processed and layered, acting as part of the overall sound rather than sitting front and centre. Tracks like “Living in a World” and “Freaky” focus on mood and message, while “It Goes Around” and “Jysco” lean into rhythm and movement. Influenced by artists such as Beck, The Beta Band, and LCD Soundsystem, Connected introduces 3rd Degree as an alternative dance project rooted in live musicianship, strong grooves, and emotional songwriting. The album also includes club-focused remixes from Waterford artists SX2, Daz Dalton (Jisco Daz / Get Down Edits), and DMG, expanding the project into club and DJ spaces.
