“whimsy rockstar in training”
18-year-old indie musician from New York. Devoted underground band fangirl and theatre kid.
I'm Neve Molea and I've been performing since I was dancing in my small town's baby ballet class and improvising my own song lyrics in my dad's home studio. I had always had such a desire to be on stage, so I got very into theater, especially musicals, participating in many community productions. As I grew up, I started to feel like I didn't fit in with that world at all. I started to lean towards smaller, more undiscovered bands and artists, my biggest influences being Good Boy Daisy, Paris Paloma, and Sabrina Carpenter in her early days. After developing a close connection with some of these artists and experiencing the way they create and dedicate themselves to their shows, I realized that that was what I needed to do. I started playing guitar and trying to write my own songs, but it wasn’t until I went through my first heartbreak that the music really poured out of me. I released my first two singles, one of which has reached over 16.5k streams, and started playing local gigs (headlining at Unihog, opening for the Ominous Seapods) while still being involved in theatre. As a college student and being at the very beginning of my career, I am trying to find my way into the music world. My goal is not to sell out stadiums but to play anywhere I can and be able to point at someone in the crowd because somehow, they know the lyrics. I want to create the same intimate world that inspired the 16-year-old version of me screaming Good Boy Daisy’s “Shag Chateau” from the front row.
“"I listen to a lot of music and it's rare these days that I love what I hear. I love your songs and songwriting...ask anyone, I wouldn't say that if it wasn't true."”
— Max Verna, Ominous Seapods
